New York:H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Lord Fatafehi Fakafanua, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga, during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Emirates News Agency , the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the UAE and Tonga in various fields such as the economy, trade, tourism, education, and development, with the aim of supporting their mutual interests.

The leaders also exchanged views on issues of common interest and topics on the UN General Assembly's agenda. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE's commitment to enhancing relations with Tonga and promoting bilateral cooperation for comprehensive development and sustainable economic growth.

In attendance were Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment; and Omar Shehadeh, the Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Caribbean and Pacific States.
