Abdullah Bin Zayed Engages in Diplomatic Talks with German Bundestag Leaders


Berlin: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in diplomatic discussions with Julia Kl¶ckner, President of the German Bundestag, Omid Nouripour, Vice President of the Bundestag, and Armin Laschet, Chairman of the Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs Committee during his working visit to Germany. The meetings focused on recent regional developments, particularly addressing the repercussions of Iranian attacks on civilian sites in the United Arab Emirates.



According to Emirates News Agency, the dialogue emphasized the serious consequences of these attacks on international maritime security, energy market stability, and the global economy. Both parties explored ways to enhance global cooperation to safeguard maritime routes and ensure the freedom of global trade. Discussions also included the recent drone attacks from Iraqi territory, specifically one targeting the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, which struck an electricity generator outside the plant’s perimeter.



The German officials expressed solidarity with the UAE and condemned the attacks. Sheikh Abdullah expressed gratitude for Germany’s support, affirming the safety of UAE residents and visitors. They also discussed strengthening bilateral relations across various fields to serve mutual interests.



H.H. highlighted the growing UAE-German relations and the significant role of parliamentary institutions in fostering communication and understanding to support peace and security. Attendees included Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; and Ahmed Waheeb Al Attar, UAE Ambassador to Germany.
