Abu Dhabi:The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has entered into a significant agreement with H2G Green Ltd, its subsidiary GasHubUnited Utility Private Ltd, MUZN Energy, and Cloud Energy Gas Company. The collaboration, announced during the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2026), aims to target AED1 billion in investment to enhance the reliability of natural gas supplies to the industrial sector in Abu Dhabi.
According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement outlines a cooperation framework to explore the potential development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the industrial and commercial sectors. This includes local production, transportation, and distribution to meet the needs of facilities within the emirate. The initiative is part of efforts to bolster energy security and improve the efficiency and reliability of Abu Dhabi's energy system.
The partnership focuses on innovative solutions for supplying natural gas to industrial and commercial facilities, diversifying supply options, and advancing economic and industrial growth in Abu Dhabi. By identifying solutions for facilities not currently connected to existing gas distribution networks, the agreement aims to support business continuity and expansion while enabling a transition to lower-emission fuels, aligning with the emirate's sustainability objectives.
Under the agreement, the parties will assess opportunities to utilize LNG solutions for supplying industrial and commercial facilities. The collaboration also explores potential support for maritime and land transport operations and the recovery and utilization of cold energy generated through LNG processes, contributing to more efficient resource utilization and flexibility in Abu Dhabi's energy supply system.
The involvement of private-sector collaboration, regulatory support, and practical innovation is expected to facilitate further opportunities for diversifying energy supply, improving efficiency, and meeting the evolving needs of Abu Dhabi's vital sectors.
