Strasbourg: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council (FNC), engaged in crucial discussions with Hannah Neumann, Chair of the Delegation for Relations with Iran in the European Parliament, at the Parliament’s headquarters in Strasbourg, France. The meeting focused on regional and international concerns, including developments in the region and maritime security, emphasizing the need for strengthened international efforts to ensure security and stability.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Al Nuaimi underscored the impact of Iranian actions against the UAE, Gulf countries, and Jordan, highlighting the Iranian regime’s role in escalating tensions and destabilizing the region. He specifically addressed the activities of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps and affiliated groups, which he said contribute to spreading hostility and interference in the internal affairs of regional countries, posing a direct threat to peace and security.
Dr. Al Nuaimi also raised concerns over Iran’s targeting of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a violation of international laws. He emphasized the importance of protecting civilian facilities, energy sources, and infrastructure from threats. Furthermore, he underscored the necessity of safeguarding maritime navigation and global trade routes, describing them as vital for the global economy and energy security.
In addition, Dr. Al Nuaimi highlighted the role of education and the promotion of tolerance and dialogue in protecting future generations from extremist ideologies. He called for the development of educational and cultural systems that foster awareness and coexistence among peoples.
Hannah Neumann, on her part, expressed her opposition to Iranian practices that destabilize the region. She stressed the importance of Iran’s compliance with United Nations resolutions and international law, advocating for the protection of maritime routes and freedom of navigation to support regional and international security.
