Abu dhabi: Calidus Holding Group, a prominent defence and manufacturing company, and Safran Electronics and Defence, a leader in high-technology defence solutions, have entered into a teaming agreement to enhance aerial delivery capabilities in the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement will see Calidus and Safran Electronics and Defence collaborate to develop an advanced aerial delivery system for the UAE. This partnership combines Calidus' industrial capabilities with Safran's expertise in personal and aerial delivery parachute systems, supporting the UAE's goal to become a regional hub for advanced defence technologies.
The cooperation extends to personal parachute systems as well, with Safran utilizing its expertise in designing and producing round parachutes for tactical mass airdrops. This ensures operational excellence and safety standards are met.
Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director and CEO of Calidus Holding Group, highlighted the significance of the agreement as a milestone in enhancing the capabilities of national defence industries. Franck Saudo, CEO of Safran Electronics and Defence, emphasized the partnership's role in technological sovereignty and operational performance.
The aerial delivery services market in the MENA region is witnessing growth due to rising military logistics demand and the region's expanding role in humanitarian operations. The partnership positions Calidus and Safran Electronics and Defence to meet these demands with high-performance and locally produced systems.
