Death Toll Rises to 49 as Israeli Warplanes Target Schools in Gaza

GAZA CITY: The death toll from Israeli warplanes targeting two schools in Al-Bureij refugee camp and Gaza City has climbed to 49, with the majority being children, women, and the elderly. The attacks occurred between last night and early Wednesday morning.

According to Emirates News Agency, citing medical sources, the fatalities resulted from bombings at Abu Hamisa School, which was housing displaced persons in the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. These strikes are part of a broader conflict that has seen relentless aggression in the region.

The Israeli offensive, particularly focused on Tulkarm city and its surrounding camps, has now entered its 101st day. The campaign has involved the demolition of homes, seizure of properties, and forced displacement of residents, adding to the suffering of the affected populations.

Since the onset of the aggression on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have been conducting continuous operations in the Gaza Strip. These operations have resulted in the deaths of 52,615 citizens, predominantly children and women, and left 118,752 others injured, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the area.
