Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, highlighted Dubai's role as a global leader in digital transformation, aligning with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of nurturing talent to drive sustainable growth and innovation.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, part of Dubai Chambers, has launched the third edition of the 'Create Apps Championship.' This initiative is part of the Create Apps in Dubai initiative, which has seen significant success since its inception in 2023. The first two editions attracted over 5,800 applications from innovators and digital entrepreneurs, leading to the development and launch of over 55 smart applications.
Sheikh Hamdan stated that Dubai's innovation initiatives are key to its strategy to become a global digital economy capital. The initiatives aim to foster a world-class innovation ecosystem that empowers talent and inspires creativity, contributing to the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Further, Sheikh Hamdan noted that Dubai is creating an environment that attracts and empowers talent, reinforcing its position as a global business, investment, and innovation destination. He stressed that Dubai's development model enhances collaboration between the public and private sectors, aiming for comprehensive development to achieve Dubai's growth objectives.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, affirmed that the 'Create Apps Championship' has become a leading initiative that celebrates creativity and innovation. It attracts talent globally, reinforcing Dubai's status as a hub for digital technology development.
The third edition introduces the 'Longevity App of the Year' award, recognizing applications that improve wellbeing and sustainable health. The edition also unveils the Alumni Accelerator Programme, supporting high-potential teams with a business accelerator to launch 50 additional applications.
A dedicated hub will offer participants training, mentorship, and expert guidance to accelerate their projects. The championship features four categories: Best Youth App, Most Impactful App, Most Innovative App, and Longevity App of the Year.
Participants have access to funding packages exceeding AED2.5 million. Winners in three categories will receive over AED550,000 each, while the 'App of the Year' winner, based on public voting, will receive AED1 million. The Create Apps Championship is open for registrations.
