Dubai: Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, recently concluded its participation in Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany. The chamber engaged in 16 meetings with companies, investors, publishers, digital platforms, service providers, and other stakeholders from the gaming ecosystem.
According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions centered on opportunities within Dubai's digital business environment and strategies to enhance connections between Dubai and international partners, particularly in Germany. The meetings provided a platform to explore industry developments and share expertise and practices within the gaming sector.
The chamber emphasized Dubai's facilitative role in fostering collaboration among game developers, publishers, and platforms globally. It highlighted investment opportunities in gaming startups and Dubai's role as a bridge linking gaming founders with venture capital firms.
Discussions also explored potential partnerships in areas such as developer mentoring, accelerator programs, hackathons, product development, studio management, cloud services, distribution, and user acquisition. A focus was placed on supporting sustainable growth in the gaming sector, emphasizing the need for company attraction initiatives, a stronger developer pipeline, and enhanced access to publishing, distribution, and capital.
The meetings delved into cooperation opportunities between Dubai and Germany in gaming and the broader digital economy, addressing Dubai's appeal to startups aiming for global market access. Key objectives of the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 were highlighted, aiming to position Dubai among the world's top 10 gaming hubs by 2033, create 30,000 new jobs, and significantly contribute to the digital economy and GDP growth.
The chamber also showcased Dubai's position as a global gaming hub, discussing international policy models and opportunities related to event hosting, team bootcamps, and institutional investment in digital infrastructure.
At Gamescom 2026, the chamber introduced gaming entrepreneurs and companies to 'Business in Dubai', a platform supporting businesses in establishing and expanding operations through a digital gateway with comprehensive corporate services.
