Dubai Secures Record 437 Global Business Events for 2024

Dubai: Dubai has reinforced its reputation as a premier destination for international conferences, congresses, and corporate meetings by securing 437 global business events for 2024. This achievement, led by Dubai Business Events (DBE)-the city's official convention bureau and part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism-marks a 20% increase from the previous year, highlighting Dubai's position as a competitive global events hub driven by innovation and infrastructure.

According to Emirates News Agency, the events planned for 2024 are expected to draw approximately 210,731 delegates to Dubai, significantly impacting the city's events, travel, and tourism sectors. This influx will bring global talent and expertise to Dubai, providing opportunities for knowledge sharing, professional development, and networking.

The collective efforts of public and private sectors have been instrumental in positioning Dubai as an accessible and welcoming destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE). This success contributes to Dubai's economic growth, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to establish the city as a leading global business and leisure hub.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, emphasized the strategic role of business events in enhancing tourism and supporting economic priorities. He noted that the increase in successful bids is a testament to Dubai's capabilities in hosting world-class business events and providing memorable experiences for delegates. The city's status as a knowledge hub further benefits associations and businesses, fostering expertise and innovation.

Dubai's significant event wins include the 2025 WFNS World Congress of Neurosurgery, the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayor Summit, and the 2025 Pan Arab Radiology Conference. Additionally, the city will host the 2026 Global Symposium on Health System Research, the 2026 FIP World Stamp Exhibition, and the 2028 Scientific Assembly and Associated Events of the Committee on Space Research.

The city also achieved success in securing corporate and incentive events for 2024, such as the 2025 Oppo Guangdong Incentive and the 2025 Loyal Connect Global. Dubai will also welcome the 2026 Forever Living Global Rally, the 2026 Emerson Exchange, and the 2026 Herbalife China Incentive.

DBE further supports Dubai's business events landscape by engaging with industry professionals globally through major trade shows and a year-round calendar of sales and study missions. Key initiatives like the Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme and collaborations with industry bodies, including the BestCities Global Alliance, have been crucial in attracting more events to Dubai.

This record-breaking performance comes after Dubai was ranked the top city in the Middle East for association meetings by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) in 2024, affirming its status as a leading meeting destination in the Middle East and Africa.
