Brussels: In response to the rapidly deteriorating situation in Gaza and the West Bank, the European Commission has allocated an additional £50 million in humanitarian funding, bringing total assistance in 2025 to £170 million. A statement from the European Commission in Brussels said the money will allow humanitarian partners on the ground to boost aid supplies to civilians in need. According to Emirates News Agency, the Commission has also allocated an additional £20 million in humanitarian aid funding to Syria, raising the total humanitarian aid to the country for 2025 to £202.5 million. This funding will support basic needs, including food and health services. Furthermore, an additional £13 million was allocated to Lebanon to support the most vulnerable Syrian refugees and Lebanese, including those residing in conflict-affected areas.
