Explosion at Syrian Gas Pipeline Shuts Down Three Power Plants

Abu Dhabi:Three power plants in Syria have been taken offline following an explosion on a gas pipeline at the Tishreen thermal power plant, which disrupted the gas supplies necessary for their operation.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Syrian Electricity Company reported that a fire caused by the explosion is still burning, and specialist teams are actively addressing the situation.

The company also stated that the shutdown of the three plants would lead to a temporary reduction in electricity generation, resulting in increased power rationing hours due to the diminished generating capacity. Further updates on the status of the plants and electricity supplies will be provided as the situation develops.
