Abu dhabi: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), received Jorge Rafael Ruiz, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to the UAE, at the FNC headquarters in Abu Dhabi. During their meeting, they explored various avenues for strengthening ties, focusing on critical sectors such as energy, renewable energy, food security, and artificial intelligence. The discussion also highlighted the significance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering relations between the two countries.

According to Emirates News Agency, Ghobash emphasized that the UAE-Guatemala relationship continues to grow stronger, driven by the dedication of both nations' leaderships to enhancing cooperation. He noted that their collaborative efforts are essential for advancing shared interests.

Ambassador Ruiz expressed Guatemala's eagerness to bolster cooperation with the UAE in economic, investment, tourism, innovation, and renewable energy sectors. He acknowledged the importance of the expanding parliamentary cooperation and emphasized the need for ongoing dialogue and mutual visits to enhance coordination between the two countries.
