Hamdan bin Zayed Reviews ADAFSA’s Agricultural Projects in Al Dhafra

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, recently received a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) in Abu Dhabi. The delegation was led by Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al Ameri, Acting Director-General. According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was part of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan's ongoing commitment to overseeing development initiatives that aim to strengthen the food security system and promote sustainable agricultural growth in the Al Dhafra Region. During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was presented with a detailed overview of ADAFSA's programs and strategic projects currently underway in Al Dhafra. These initiatives are designed to boost agricultural productivity and enhance the sustainability of the food sector by applying best practices in agriculture, livestock production, and food control. The presentation also highlighted recent regulatory decisions by the Authority, including a significant resolution by its Board of Directors that expanded the number of permissible economic activities on farms to 145. This decision aims to optimize the use of agricultural land and increase its contribution to the emirate's gross domestic product. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the support and guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are crucial to the development of the national food security system and the sustainability of the UAE's natural resources. He highlighted the special importance of the Al Dhafra Region due to its unique agricultural and environmental potential and called for continued fieldwork and innovation in managing agricultural resources to achieve balanced development across all areas of the emirate. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan also praised ADAFSA's efforts in implementing initiatives and projects that align with the leadership's vision for a sustainable agricultural future. The meeting was attended by several Sheikhs and officials.
