Hazza bin Zayed Reviews Infrastructure and Logistics Projects in Al Ain Region


Al ain: H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, has received delegations from Abu Dhabi Airports, AD Ports Group, and Etihad Rail to review the latest updates on development and strategic projects aimed at further enhancing the infrastructure, transport, and logistics ecosystems across Al Ain Region.



According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Hazza met with a delegation from Abu Dhabi Airports, led by Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Juma Al Shamisi, to discuss development projects and activation plans for Al Ain International Airport’s free zone. The discussions included plans to advance integrated logistics solutions and strengthen multimodal transport connectivity between air and rail, supporting the airport’s role as a key hub for transport and logistics services. Strategic expansion plans to enhance passenger movement and develop facilities in line with the economic and tourism goals of the region were also explored.



H.H. Sheikh Hazza also engaged with a delegation from AD Ports Group, led by Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer. The briefing covered projects by the group and Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD Group) in the Al Ain Region, focusing on reinforcing the area as an integrated industrial and economic hub. Future projects to meet the requirements of the food, agritech, packaging, and logistics sectors were discussed to boost economic growth and attract investment.



Additionally, H.H. Sheikh Hazza met with Shadi Malak, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Rail, to review updates on the railway link project between the UAE and Oman. The project is considered strategic for the Al Ain Region and is currently 40 percent complete. Discussions included future plans for passenger and freight rail projects, emphasizing their role in supporting economic growth and enhancing transport, infrastructure, and logistics systems across the UAE.



H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed emphasized the importance of developing infrastructure, transport, and logistics projects with an integrated, future-focused vision. He highlighted the need to enhance the competitiveness of the Al Ain Region, support sustainable economic development, and reinforce the UAE as a global hub for trade, logistics services, and advanced transport solutions. He commended the efforts of national talent and work teams in implementing strategic projects that align with high standards of efficiency and quality, contributing to the comprehensive development goals and improving the quality of life for community members in the Al Ain Region.



The meetings were attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and several officials from Abu Dhabi Airports, AD Ports Group, and Etihad Rail.
