International Fund for Houbara Conservation Showcases at Al Ain Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2025

Al ain: The International Fund for Houbara Conservation (IFHC), an affiliate of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, announced its participation in the inaugural edition of the Al Ain International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition. The event is scheduled from 26th to 30th November 2025 at the Al Ain Convention Centre and is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Ain Region.

According to Emirates News Agency, IFHC will have a pavilion that underscores Al Ain's pivotal role in global Houbara conservation. The city is significant for housing the Sheikh Khalifa Houbara Breeding Centre and the National Avian Research Centre, both leading in captive breeding, research, and reintroduction of Asian Houbara.

The pavilion will feature an area dedicated to Al Ain, where the Abu Dhabi Houbara Conservation Program was initiated by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan at the Al Ain Zoo in 1977. Visitors will experience the project's success story through an interactive mural. They are also invited to participate in educational puzzles and questions to earn a certificate acknowledging their understanding of the Houbara's ecological and cultural significance.

The pavilion includes a live display of Houbara birds in an environment mimicking their natural habitat. It also showcases various equipment and technologies used by the Fund's centres, detailing the captive-breeding process and efforts to reintroduce the birds into the wild. This includes stages from collecting reproductive fluids, artificial insemination, to monitoring their survival and adaptation.

Young visitors can engage with the 'Habour AI Platform,' which educates on the Houbara's cultural and environmental importance. IFHC's campaign at the exhibition aims to reinforce partnerships with falconers, vital partners in promoting sustainable practices and preserving natural heritage.
