CARTHAGE, The seventh edition of the Kairouan Festival of Arabic Poetry, today concluded its activities.
The festival was was held under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and organised by Sharjah Department of Culture in, with the participation of Tunisian poets, critics, and intellectuals.
The closing ceremony was held in the municipality of Carthage in the Tunisian capital, Tunis, in the presence of Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, poet Jamila Al Majri, Director of Kairouan House of Poetry, and others.
Poets expressed their happiness at participating in the festival, pointing out that the Kairouan House, sponsored by the Ruler of Sharjah, is a win at the local and Arab levels, especially as it attracts poets from outside Tunisia.
