Mohammed bin Rashid Endowment District Board of Trustees Holds Inaugural Meeting to Discuss Executive Plans

Dubai: The Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Endowment District, a pioneering project initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, convened for its first meeting. The meeting was attended by Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary-General of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).

According to Emirates News Agency, the Mohammed bin Rashid Endowment District is the region's first of its kind, forming a part of MBRGI's strategic investment efforts with support from Azizi Developments. Mohammad Al Gergawi emphasized MBRGI's commitment to launching significant endowment projects that align with its humanitarian goals, reflecting the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. These initiatives aim to promote a culture of giving, enhancing healthcare, education, and quality of life for communities.

Al Gergawi noted that the Mohammed bin Rashid Endowment District is a crucial addition to MBRGI's initiatives, accelerating strategic plans to expand global reach and finance development programs through sustainable investment returns from this project.

The meeting, chaired by Mattar Al Tayer, included members Saeed Al Eter, Mirwais Azizi, Marwan bin Ghalita, Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Rashid Ali Al Falasi, Dr. Mahdi Fardan Al Fardan, and Mr. Farhad Mirwais Azizi. The Board expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his trust and support for charitable efforts, pledging to implement his vision for the endowment district and enhance its role as a model for sustainable giving.

The Board emphasized the importance of executing the project to meet international standards of infrastructure, sustainability, and operational efficiency to achieve optimal investment returns.

Mattar Al Tayer stated that the Endowment District embodies His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision of using endowments as a strategic tool for sustainable giving. The project combines urban development with humanitarian goals, aiming to drive positive change in communities.

Al Tayer highlighted efforts to promote innovative developmental endowments, strengthen partnerships, and manage and invest endowment returns. This will ensure sustainable funding for global education and healthcare initiatives, reinforcing the UAE's position as a leading hub for sustainable endowments.

Mirwais Azizi of Azizi Developments stated that the Mohammed bin Rashid Endowment District symbolizes the UAE's goodwill and hope, offering support for healthcare and education. The project reflects the shared vision of MBRGI and Azizi Developments for sustainable giving and community upliftment.

Azizi remarked that the project elevates collaboration with MBRGI, reinforcing the UAE's reputation as a model of generosity and humanitarian leadership.

The meeting discussed the executive plans for the endowment district, an urban destination integrating housing, commercial facilities, healthcare, and education with a total investment of AED4.7 billion. The project spans 2 million square feet and includes a 250-bed hospital, a medical college, and two schools accommodating 5,000 students. It also features 25 endowment buildings with over 2,000 residential units, service facilities, and retail outlets, hosting over 12,000 residents and visitors daily upon completion.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Endowment District aligns with Dubai's vision for future cities, integrating various facilities that meet high standards of efficiency, sustainability, and quality of life.
