Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a pivotal UAE Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan, setting the tone for the new government season with three key messages for government teams.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the UAE's commitment to progress without waiting for perfect conditions and highlighted the launch of the largest transformation project for government services using agentic AI. The initiative is expected to drive significant changes in government operations. Additionally, he stressed the importance of trust built over decades as a crucial asset for the UAE's continued success.
The meeting also saw the approval of the Cabinet AI Advisor system, designed to enhance government decision-making through 32 specialized AI advisors available around the clock. This system aims to improve the quality of government output by analyzing policies, legislation, and global best practices.
In education, Sheikh Mohammed announced a program to develop the capabilities of 22,000 teachers using AI tools, reinforcing the UAE's pioneering role in integrating AI into curricula across all educational levels. The Cabinet also approved making this AI curriculum accessible to ministries of education worldwide.
Furthermore, the UAE Government Annual Meetings agenda was approved, focusing on readiness and resilience across various sectors, including the economy, logistics, and resources. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE's achievements in digital transformation, noting over 308 million digital transactions and a high customer satisfaction rate.
In environmental initiatives, the Cabinet approved the National Ecotourism Policy and reviewed the National Strategy to Combat Desertification, which has seen significant progress in protecting ecosystems and natural resources. The UAE's efforts in afforestation and rangeland rehabilitation were emphasized as part of its national commitment to environmental sustainability.
The Cabinet also addressed futuristic projects by approving regulations for autonomous vehicles and an AI curriculum for schools, aiming to equip future generations with essential AI skills. This move underscores the UAE's leadership in the field of education and technology.
The Emirates Council for Balanced Development's annual report was reviewed, showcasing projects that strengthen family cohesion, preserve local heritage, and develop tourism destinations. The Cabinet also discussed the national campaign to position the UAE as a global entrepreneurship hub and the progress of the Emirates Skills platform.
Internationally, the Cabinet ratified agreements with countries like Luxembourg, Qatar, and Ecuador, and approved UAE's observer status in the African Diamond Producers Association. The UAE's participation in international events and its commitment to global partnerships were also highlighted.
