Abu dhabi: Santiago Pe±a, President of the Republic of Paraguay, welcomed Humaid Obaid Abushibs, Chairman of the UAE Accountability Authority, along with his delegation during an official visit aimed at signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Paraguay. This visit marks a significant step in advancing bilateral cooperation in oversight, governance, integrity, and anti-corruption.
According to Emirates News Agency, President Pe±a commended the strong relations between the United Arab Emirates and Paraguay, emphasizing the shared commitment to bolster cooperation and expand collaborative efforts in areas of mutual interest. He highlighted the importance of promoting good governance, enhancing integrity and transparency, and supporting anti-corruption initiatives as key aspects of this partnership.
On the sidelines of the visit, the UAE Accountability Authority and the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Paraguay formalized their cooperation by signing an MoU. The agreement was signed by Humaid Obaid Abushibs and Camilo Bentez Aldana, Comptroller General of Paraguay.
The MoU seeks to fortify institutional cooperation through the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and best practices. It also aims to implement joint initiatives in audit, governance, integrity, transparency, and anti-corruption. These efforts are expected to contribute to institutional capacity building, foster innovation in public oversight, and further enhance the bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Paraguay.
