Brussels: In May 2026, services production in both the euro area and the EU saw a seasonally adjusted increase of 0.8% compared to the previous month of April 2026. This data comes from first estimates provided by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
According to Emirates News Agency, the growth in services production was 0.7% in the euro area and 0.3% in the EU during April 2026. Furthermore, when comparing May 2026 to May 2025, services production witnessed a year-on-year increase of 2.4% in both regions.
Among the Member States with available data, Greece, Latvia, and Poland showed the highest monthly increases in services production, with growth rates of 4.5%, 3.8%, and 3.0%, respectively. Conversely, Hungary, Portugal, and Denmark experienced the largest decreases, with reductions of 3.6%, 2.8%, and 1.3%.
On an annual basis, Bulgaria, Latvia, and Poland recorded the highest increases in services production, with growth rates of 8.1%, 7.9%, and 7.3%, respectively. In contrast, Denmark, Hungary, and Romania saw declines of 14.0%, 3.6%, and 1.4%.
