Sharjah Museums Authority Celebrates 20th Anniversary with New Visual Identity

Sharjah:Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA) has introduced a new visual identity to commemorate its 20th anniversary, marking the organization's growth and future ambitions as it enters its third decade.

According to Emirates News Agency, this new identity unites SMA's 20 museums under a modern visual framework that honors Sharjah's cultural heritage while emphasizing the Authority's dedication to preserving collections, enriching knowledge, and inspiring both learning and discovery. The identity aligns with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who has made culture and knowledge central to the emirate's development.

The design is inspired by the arches found in Sharjah's historic buildings and museums, featuring calligraphic elements that represent creativity, movement, discovery, and connection. The cohesive visual system includes a new logo, graphics, and icons, with a color palette that balances heritage and innovation.

More than a mere visual update, the new identity signifies a new phase in SMA's development, enhancing its cultural role, strengthening its international presence, and supporting its goal to create more engaging experiences for visitors and communities. Maissa Saif Alsuwaidi, Director-General of Sharjah Museums Authority, stated that the identity conveys the depth of the Authority's mission and future ambitions, reiterating its commitment to preserving heritage and maintaining museums as vibrant spaces for learning, discovery, and cultural dialogue.
