Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated Al Majarrah Park, affiliated with Sharjah Art Foundation, highlighting the Emirate’s vision of supporting the arts and enhancing creative and community spaces.
According to Emirates News Agency, the park is located in the Al Majarrah area of Sharjah. Upon his arrival, the Ruler of Sharjah was received by prominent figures including Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah Art Foundation, and Sheikha Nawar Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Art Foundation, along with several senior officials.
H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan toured the park, appreciating its artistic elements inspired by the memories and possessions of Sharjah residents, which reflect the community identity and cultural aspect of the area. He also explored spaces designed for gatherings and recreational activities, aimed at providing an interactive environment for cultural, artistic, and community events.
The Ruler of Sharjah was briefed on the park’s new facilities, which include a running track, climbing nets, and sports courts, among others. These facilities aim to strengthen community interaction and provide a space that combines culture and entertainment.
Al Majarrah Park offers an interactive environment for residents, providing opportunities to utilize leisure time productively through various facilities that aid in skill development and promote physical wellbeing. The park also enhances its environmental aspect with green spaces and water features.
Al Majarrah Park is part of Sharjah Art Foundation’s series of public art projects, including the Rain Room and the artwork ‘Untitled: Excavation’, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to integrating art into public spaces and everyday life.
