The decision impacts the international financial exchange based in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), where regional and global investors trade equities, derivatives, sukuk, and conventional bonds. According to Emirates News Agency, the DFSA, an independent regulator of banking, financial services, and markets within the DIFC, has taken this step as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor developments in the region.
