The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) recently received a delegation from the Sharjah Police Science Academy of the Sharjah Police. The delegation was headed by Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Police Science Academy in Sharjah, and was briefed on the major initiatives and strategic projects that the Authority executes at the federal government level, particularly those focused on knowledge and data management.
The delegation was received by Her Excellency Aisha Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Human Resources Policies at FAHR. Her Excellency stated that these visits play a pivotal role in developing the systems, tools, and business models in the country’s government and private institutions. This can be achieved through the exchange of best expertise, practices, and successful experiences locally, regionally, and globally.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed the major initiatives and vital projects that the Authority executes at the federal government level, and addressed the Authority’s remarkable efforts toward developing policies, legislations, and electronic Human Resources Systems. Moreover, they discussed the Guide of Knowledge Management in the Federal Government, which the Authority launched back in 2017, and stated that the Guide acts as an integrated approach and a roadmap to facilitate knowledge management at all ministers and federal entities.
Her Excellency Al Suwaidi explained that the Authority designed the Guide to raise awareness of the importance of knowledge asset management in the various ministries and federal entities, and to learn more about the concept of knowledge management and its different applications, as well as to identify the benefits of knowledge management and its role in enhancing the institutions’ productivity, creativity, and innovation.
She also pointed out that the Guide explains the different types of knowledge, its various stages of development, and its internal and external sources. Moreover, the Guide highlights the benefits that the adoption of knowledge management practices could bring to the entities and explained how to assess knowledge maturity and showcased the key components of the knowledge management strategy.
Mr. Omran Al Shamsi, Head of Systems Development & Maintenance Section at FAHR, briefed the Sharjah Police Science Academy’s delegation on the latest updates in the Human Resources Management Information System in the Federal Government “Bayanati” and its subset of electronic Human Resources Systems, and explained how to manage employee data and automate all HR procedures using these systems.
Furthermore, the delegation was also introduced to the Authority’s major initiatives in the field of knowledge management and transfer, including the Human Resources Club, the Monthly Human Resources Magazine, and the Human Resources Echo articles which the Authority issues periodically in both Arabic and English in cooperation with reputable institutions and universities and international houses of expertise that specialize in human capital development.
In addition to that, the Authority briefed the delegation on the former’s experience in the field of data and information management and introduced it to the smart and statistical reporting system in “Bayanati”. The Authority also described the various initiatives that it runs which aim at promoting the use of data and taking supportive decisions that aid in the development of human resources legislations and systems in the federal government.
The Sharjah Police Science Academy’s delegation included Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Police Science Academy in Sharjah, Lieutenant-Colonel Obaid Mohammed Belrashid, Lieutenant Colonel Jamal Ahmed Al Shehhi, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Sufyan Ali Khalifa, Lieutenant-Colonel Abdullah Al-Malih, Major Omar Saeed Yarouf, and First Lieutenant Hammad Al Zaabi.
