Abu Dhabi: Winners of the 2025 Zayed Sustainability Prize have expressed their deep gratitude for the UAE's significant support in advancing their innovative solutions. They commended the prize for providing them with a platform to expand the global impact of their groundbreaking work. According to Emirates News Agency, in statements on the sidelines of the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, winners of the prize highlighted the Zayed Sustainability Prize as a crucial platform for supporting projects that contribute to sustainable development. They emphasised that this support reflects the UAE's commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability on a global scale. Dr. Rhett Butler, Chairman and Founder at SkyJuice Foundation Inc, Australia, who won in the Water Category, expressed his appreciation for the prize's role in scaling up his organisation's innovative solutions. He aims to expand their reach to countries like Bhutan. Butler noted that his foundation's win was a result of developing an inno vative, safe, and sustainable water treatment system that uses simple filtration techniques requiring no electricity or chemicals, providing clean drinking water to low-income communities. AbdulLateef Olaosebikan, Co-Founder of NaFarm Foods, Nigeria, who won the food category, thanked the UAE for its ongoing support, expressing his hope to expand the solution to 24 Nigerian states soon. He explained that NaFarm Foods won for developing solar-powered hybrid food dryers aimed at reducing food waste and addressing post-harvest losses in Nigeria. The dryers enable farmers to dry and preserve their crops for longer periods.
