Abu Dhabi:The United Arab Emirates is commemorating the third anniversary of 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3', an initiative launched on November 5, 2023, under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The operation was established to provide comprehensive humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, addressing their needs amid challenging conditions.

According to Emirates News Agency, over the past three years, the operation has evolved into a fully integrated humanitarian system, delivering food, medical, water, and shelter assistance. It also supports healthcare, education, and provides aid specifically for women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, along with community initiatives and psychosocial support programs.

The humanitarian aid delivered through the operation has exceeded 136,000 tonnes, valued at more than US$4.16 billion, accounting for nearly 46% of all international aid that has reached the Gaza Strip. The logistics of the operation have involved 792 aircraft, 26 ships, and 14,711 trucks, along with 81 airdrop missions under the Birds of Goodness initiative, ensuring continuous delivery of aid by land, air, and sea.

In terms of healthcare, more than 294,000 cases have received medical attention through the operation, which has included the establishment of health centers and field hospitals, and the dispatch of medical convoys in partnership with the World Health Organisation (WHO). The operation has also expanded food assistance with 40 community kitchens producing about eight million meals annually and supporting 27 bakeries capable of producing up to 1.5 million bundles of bread each year.

Additionally, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 implements seasonal projects like the Winter Clothing initiative, aiming to assist one million beneficiaries in Gaza by providing essential clothing and heating supplies. The operation's team continues to coordinate aid convoys from the UAE humanitarian aid logistics center in Al Arish, Egypt, ensuring a steady flow of support into Gaza.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 underscores the UAE's dedication to humanitarian solidarity, mutual support, and its ongoing commitment to addressing the essential needs of Gaza's population.
