London: The Office for National Statistics reported that net migration to the UK decreased significantly, reaching 204,000 in the year leading up to June 2025. This dramatic reduction, by two-thirds, is attributed to a sharp decline in arrivals and a slight increase in the number of people leaving the country.
According to Emirates News Agency, net migration previously peaked at 906,000 in the year to June 2023. The latest figures show a net outflow of both EU and UK citizens over the 12 months to June 2025. Notably, a majority of the UK citizens departing the country were under the age of 35.
