Accra:US producer prices saw their largest increase in 4.5 years in September, driven by rising costs for goods and services. This surge is a signal that inflation is spreading beyond just energy products.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Labour Department's report released on Thursday highlighted significant rises in key components used to calculate the main inflation measures monitored by the Federal Reserve, which aims for a 2 percent inflation target. These figures have led some economists to predict a potential interest rate hike this month.
Despite this, financial markets are anticipating that the next rate increase will occur in December.
