31st Arab Regional Scout Conference Unveils New Triennial Plan and Youth Initiatives

Abu dhabi: The 31st Arab Regional Scout Conference, hosted in Abu Dhabi from November 15th to 21st, will focus on a new triennial plan, showcasing youth-led initiatives and promoting collaborative projects among Arab Scout Associations to improve efficiency, governance, and leadership.

According to Emirates News Agency, the conference emphasizes the crucial role of Scouting in shaping young individuals into proactive and responsible citizens who contribute to the advancement of their communities and the world. Organized by the Arab Scout Region and the Arab Scout Organisation, the event is hosted by the Emirates Scout Association, the official National Scout Organisation of the UAE. It gathers young people and Scout leaders from across the Arab world to further the region's dedication to Scouting education and youth progress.

The conference will also celebrate past achievements and recognize the growth and influence of Scouting in the Arab region, boasting a membership of 515,000 Scouts across 19 National Scout Organizations. Dr. Salem Abdulrahman Al Darmaki, Chairperson of the Emirates Scout Association and Deputy Chairperson of the Arab Scout Committee, expressed the honor of hosting the conference, marking a historic moment since the 18th Conference in 1988. He highlighted the event as a reaffirmation of commitment to the Scout mission and the UAE's focus on youth as a national priority.

Dr. Abdullah Alturaiji, Chairperson of the Arab Scout Committee, noted the significance of hosting the conference in Abu Dhabi, a land symbolic in the journey of Arab scouting. Dani«l Corsen, Chair of the World Scout Committee, also praised the opportunity to participate in the event, underscoring the UAE's role as an inspiring model in supporting the scouting movement both locally and globally. The conference aims to enhance cooperation between the Arab region and the World Organisation of the Scout Movement, fostering the development of young leaders capable of making a global impact.
