Juneau: An earthquake measuring magnitude 7.0 struck the US state of Alaska on Saturday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). Tremors were felt in the state capital, Juneau, and in neighbouring areas of Canada, local media reported.
According to Emirates News Agency, the USGS said the epicentre was located 96 kilometres northeast of Yakutat at a depth of 10 kilometres. Despite the significant magnitude, no casualties or property damage have been reported.
