Abu dhabi: The inaugural edition of the Abu Dhabi Global Sustainable Security Summit (ADGSSS) concluded at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The summit, which took place from 19 to 21 May 2026, was organized by the Ministry of Interior and Rabdan Academy in collaboration with the ADNEC Group. It served as a strategic platform for leaders, experts, and decision-makers from around the world to discuss the future of security, resilience, and sustainability.
According to Emirates News Agency, the final day of the summit began with remarks from Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and Future. She highlighted the accelerating global changes driven by geopolitical and security challenges that influence the stability of economies, supply chains, and energy markets. Al Roumi emphasized the importance of readiness and proactivity in addressing these challenges, noting that the UAE has integrated future preparedness into its governmental structure.
Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General at the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee for ISNR 2026, remarked on the UAE’s exceptional model for managing security during crises while maintaining societal stability. He highlighted the UAE’s achievements in global safety rankings, with the UAE ranked as the world’s safest country in the latest Global Safety Index for 2026, and Abu Dhabi maintaining its status as the world’s safest city for a decade.
Al Raisi further explained the UAE’s comprehensive approach to security, which extends beyond border protection to safeguard societal well-being and economic stability. He attributed the country’s sustained economic growth and efficient government services to visionary leadership and long-term investment in resilient institutions.
The summit’s closing panel discussion, “Resilience by Design: Capacity, Talent, and Institutional Preparedness,” explored the development of human capital and institutional structures for long-term security readiness. Additionally, the Circles of Resilience Pavilion featured a session on institutional preparedness and civil protection, led by His Excellency Major General Dr. Jasem Mohamed Al Marzouqi, Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defence.
The final day also offered workshops, including the Student Research and Innovation Showcase, Integrated Governance, and Applied AI Solutions for Security. These sessions underscored the summit’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in addressing global security challenges.
