Abu dhabi: Abu Dhabi City Municipality has installed 3,800 decorative light displays across Abu Dhabi Island and mainland cities ahead of Eid Al Adha, as part of efforts to mark the holiday and enhance the capital’s urban landscape. The initiative aims to combine cultural heritage with modern design, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to improving the quality of life and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s urban identity.
According to Emirates News Agency, the project was carried out in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. It includes illuminated festive messages and geometric designs inspired by Islamic art and calligraphy. Khaled Allaq Al Hammadi, Project Monitoring Manager at Abu Dhabi City Municipality, emphasized that this initiative is a testament to the municipality’s dedication to enhancing the city’s cultural landscape.
The decorations feature phrases such as ‘Eid Mubarak’ and ‘Wishing You Well Every Year’, alongside lighting structures that range from 2 to 4 meters in size. The municipality assured that all installations were designed to meet safety and environmental standards, utilizing energy-efficient lighting and recyclable materials that are resistant to weather conditions. Continuous monitoring by specialized technical teams is being conducted to ensure quality and performance of the displays.
