Nahyan Bin Mubarak Opens Economy Middle East Summit 2026, Focuses on ‘Economy of Tomorrow’


Abu dhabi: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated the Economy Middle East Summit 2026 at Rosewood Abu Dhabi. The event, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), brought together over 1,500 ministers, senior officials, decision-makers, investors, and private sector leaders under the theme ‘The Economy of Tomorrow: The UAE Emerges Stronger.’



According to Emirates News Agency, the summit featured various sessions and discussions on sectors such as economy, investment and trade, banking and finance, digital assets, artificial intelligence and technology, energy, and mobility. It also explored future economic trends and sustainable growth opportunities globally. The summit aimed to foster dialogue, knowledge, and cooperation among leaders from government, business, finance, technology, and civil society.



In his keynote address, Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the UAE’s resilience and stability during challenging times. He credited the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the country’s calm, discipline, and determination. He stressed the importance of economic, technological, and human development in the UAE’s national priorities and highlighted the country’s role in shaping global economic and political developments.



Sheikh Nahyan pointed out that the UAE’s success in building the Economy of Tomorrow is linked to a stable business environment, free trade, and investment. He highlighted the significance of government support for competitiveness and transparency, as well as the need for entrepreneurship, economic diversification, increased productivity, and regional cooperation in various sectors.



He also noted the importance of regulatory cooperation in artificial intelligence, financial technology, cybersecurity, digital assets, and cross-border commerce. The green transition, through clean energy, sustainable finance, and climate-smart infrastructure, was also emphasized. Sheikh Nahyan called for investment in education, training, research, science, technology, and workplace cultures to empower individuals in times of change.



Concluding his remarks, Sheikh Nahyan stressed the importance of the summit in addressing these critical issues. He expressed hope that the discussions would lead to practical partnerships, sound ideas, and regional progress, ultimately building a Middle East that is peaceful, innovative, and connected to the world.
