Abu dhabi: The World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO), in collaboration with the UAE Muaythai and Kickboxing Federation (UAEMKFED), has announced that the World Kickboxing Championship Seniors and Masters will be held in Abu Dhabi from 21st to 30th November 2025 at ADNEC Arena.
According to Emirates News Agency, this marks the first time the prestigious championship will be hosted outside of Europe, establishing Abu Dhabi as a central hub for martial arts and a gathering place for the world's top athletes. The event is set to attract over 2,000 participants from 150 countries, making it the largest kickboxing championship ever organized.
The championship will span nine days, featuring competitions across both Tatami and Ring disciplines, including the Masters and Para-Kickboxing categories. The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, 23rd November 2025, at 17:00 at ADNEC Arena, where global delegations and dignitaries will be welcomed, highlighting the UAE's dedication to promoting combat sports globally.
The official programme of the event includes daily qualifications, semi-finals, and finals across all disciplines, culminating in the Grand Finals and Awarding Ceremonies on 28th and 29th November, with delegations departing on 30th November. Ali Khouri, Board Member of the UAE Muaythai and Kickboxing Federation and Executive Board Member of WAKO, stated that the championship in Abu Dhabi will be a significant milestone for the UAE, showcasing the nation's commitment to peace, unity, and cross-cultural understanding through sport. The event aims to highlight Abu Dhabi's world-class capabilities and its emerging role as a global hub for martial arts.
