Tashkent: The annual Flower Festival opened on Thursday in the square in front of the National Library in Tashkent, attracting large crowds and transforming the heart of the Uzbek capital into a vibrant celebration of colour and creativity.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Festival has been held regularly since 1961 in several cities across Uzbekistan and has become one of the country's most cherished cultural traditions, showcasing elaborate floral installations and artistic horticultural expressions.

During the opening day, visitors were seen admiring intricate floral creations and dazzling arrangements that brought a sense of wonder to the event. Attendees were filmed walking beneath arches of peonies and approaching full-size dinosaur sculptures crafted from pink, white, and purple wisteria.

The festival also featured a decorated aeroplane structure, along with vibrant floral carpets composed of geraniums, tulips, and numerous other seasonal blooms, further enhancing the immersive floral experience.

The event continues to serve as a platform for environmental appreciation, artistic expression, and community engagement, drawing both residents and international visitors to the blooming spectacle in central Tashkent.
