Abu dhabi: Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, recently engaged in discussions with Hans Grundberg, the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, focusing on the current developments in the Yemeni crisis.

According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Gargash underscored the United Arab Emirates' commitment to supporting international efforts and the initiatives undertaken by the UN envoy to address the crisis in Yemen. He highlighted the necessity of resolving regional conflicts through political and diplomatic channels and emphasized the pursuit of a sustainable political solution to end the crisis and alleviate the humanitarian challenges faced by the Yemeni population.

Dr. Gargash also reiterated the UAE's unwavering support for the Yemeni people and all efforts directed at resolving the crisis and its associated political and humanitarian consequences. Meanwhile, the UN envoy provided an overview of the recent developments in the Yemeni situation, involving discussions with international, regional, and local stakeholders, and elaborated on the ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering peace.

The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 12th edition of the Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate, an event organised by the Emirates Policy Centre.
