Dubai: Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, in collaboration with the Events Security Committee in Dubai, has announced the organisation of the 'Al Etihad Parade' on 2nd December to mark the 54th Eid Al Etihad. The event is being organised as part of the 'National Month' campaign launched by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative reflects Brand Dubai's commitment to fostering community participation and celebrating the Spirit of the Union through safe, engaging and well-organised public events that embody national identity and unity. The gathering point for the parade is Dubai Maritime City at 3:00 pm. The procession will run along Jumeirah Road from the Union House intersection to the Burj Al Arab intersection from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, offering a vibrant showcase of national pride and community spirit.
More than 30 volunteers from the Community Development Authority will support the event by distributing over 1,000 UAE flags to participants. Organisers emphasised the importance of adhering to all approved guidelines and safety measures to ensure the wellbeing of participants and road users.
Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, stated that the organisation of this national parade in collaboration with the Events Security Committee in Dubai is a reflection of shared pride and belonging, bringing together all community members to celebrate the 54th Eid Al Etihad. She mentioned that the events are designed to highlight the enduring values of the nation and showcase the Emirati identity through contemporary experiences.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), expressed that the 54th Eid Al Etihad is a profound moment of celebration, honouring the vision of great leaders and commemorating unity and progress. The programming reflects deep pride in the UAE's heritage and cultural identity, bringing together hospitality, entertainment, culture, and culinary experiences. The 'Al Etihad Parade' is a standout moment, bringing communities together in a powerful display of unity and pride.
Reem Obaid Al Awabed, Director of Social Programmes at the Community Development Authority, highlighted that the parade aligns with the 'Year of the Community', emphasising unity, belonging, and social responsibility. She noted the growing culture of volunteering in Dubai, with more than 30 CDA volunteers participating in flag distribution.
The Events Security Committee in Dubai emphasised its commitment to providing a safe environment for all participants, encouraging public participation while following traffic instructions to ensure a safe and smooth experience. Police patrols will be deployed along the route, ensuring traffic flow and safety.
Organisers underline the need for full compliance with guidelines to ensure public safety and a well-organised national parade. Participants must adhere to authorised parades and police instructions, maintaining cleanliness, and avoiding unregulated processions, vehicle modifications, or any actions that may obstruct traffic.
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in penalties, including fines, vehicle impoundment, black points, and potential suspension of the driving licence. Organisers encourage the public to follow official channels for the latest information and instructions related to the event.
