Dubai: Brand Dubai has officially launched the second edition of #HattaWinter, unveiling an expanded programme aimed at highlighting Hatta's natural beauty, cultural heritage, and its growing stature as a premier winter destination. The announcement was made during a press conference at the Government of Dubai Media Office, where officials detailed the varied offerings of the upcoming festival.
According to Emirates News Agency, Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office, emphasized the increasing importance of the festivals and events held in Hatta. She stated that these initiatives are crucial in elevating Hatta's profile as a tourist attraction, creating opportunities for the private sector, and driving community-based development in the region. Al Marri further noted that the festivals will feature an extensive array of cultural, entertainment, and sports activities, showcasing Hatta's unique heritage and stunning landscapes.
The festival will also play a significant role in supporting small and emerging businesses. Numerous ventures from the Proudly from Dubai initiative, including several from Hatta, will participate, providing a platform for creative entrepreneurs and local brands. A special focus will be given to the Young Entrepreneur initiative, enabling children to explore entrepreneurship through interactive experiences. Additionally, the festival will feature expanded children's zones, art workshops, educational games, and a variety of creative activities.
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, outlined the ongoing development plans for Hatta, mentioning that 74 infrastructure, tourism, and community service projects are either completed or underway. The RTA is enhancing mobility in the area through sustainable transport and public-transport services, supporting the festival with ample parking and shuttle services to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety.
Security measures are also a priority, with Captain Ghadeer Mohammed Al Khalidi of the Hatta Police Station detailing the extensive preparations to ensure visitor safety. This includes mobilizing teams to manage traffic flow and secure festival sites, ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees.
The festival will also host the tenth edition of the Hatta Honey Festival and the Hatta Agricultural Festival, providing platforms for Emirati beekeepers and local farmers to showcase their products. Cultural events such as the Hatta Cultural Nights and the Productive Families Festival will celebrate local heritage and support economic growth by offering a stage for families to present their goods.
Rashid Mohammed Abdullah from the Dubai Sports Council highlighted Hatta as an ideal location for mountain and water sports, with plans to enhance sports infrastructure and host significant events like the Ultra Trail Dubai and the Women's Epic Race.
Abdul Hakim Hussein from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism spoke about the success of the previous edition in promoting Hatta. The upcoming Hatta Wadi Hub Festival will introduce new experiences like an outdoor cinema and an illuminated walking trail, promising visitors an unforgettable experience.
