Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Leads UAE Delegation to Gulf-US Summit in Riyadh

Riyadh: On behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, led the UAE delegation to the Gulf-US Summit held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The summit was attended by Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders and Donald Trump, President of the United States, to discuss strengthening friendship and cooperation between the GCC and the US.

According to Emirates News Agency, the summit addressed regional and international developments and explored ways to enhance security and stability in the region. H.H. Sheikh Khaled expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for hosting the summit, emphasizing the importance of the strategic partnership between the GCC and the US.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled expressed confidence that the summit would bolster the strategic partnership and drive growth across key sectors. He highlighted the necessity of enhancing political, economic, and security coordination between the GCC and the US to build a prosperous future for the region's people.

He underscored the need for collaboration and joint action to advance regional and global peace and stability, acknowledging the pivotal role of the US in promoting security. The summit reinforced the longstanding partnership and shared commitment to peace and prosperity.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled praised President Trump's administration for mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, affirming dialogue as the only viable path to resolving disputes. He expressed optimism about diplomatic dialogue between the US and Iran and supported efforts to de-escalate tensions.

The UAE's commitment to cooperation with President Trump's administration and long-term regional solutions was reiterated by H.H. Sheikh Khaled. He reaffirmed the UAE's dedication to dialogue and diplomacy, exemplified by the signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled emphasized coordinated efforts for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and a comprehensive settlement ensuring Palestinian rights, including an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He noted that the ties between the GCC and the US transcend traditional diplomacy, creating dynamic partnerships and achievements in fields like artificial intelligence and peaceful nuclear energy programs.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled concluded by highlighting economic and trade integration among GCC states, fostering shared opportunities in sectors such as economic development, energy, and technology, while addressing common security challenges.
