Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Silver Award competition, organized by the Weapons and Hazardous Substances Office in cooperation with the UAE Shooting Federation and the International Federation of Sport Shooting Confederation (FITASC), concluded yesterday. This event was part of the closing program of the three-day Abu Dhabi International Shooting Championship held at the Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club, attracting more than 300 male and female shooters from 30 countries.
According to Emirates News Agency, the winners were crowned by Mohammed Suhail Al Neyadi, Director General of the Weapons and Hazardous Substances Office and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee, alongside Jean-Fran§ois Palinkas, President of the International Federation of Sport Shooting Confederation (FITASC). The total value of prizes exceeded AED 100,000, with the silver medals weighing a combined 14.45 kilograms, distributed across six categories.
In the Juniors category, French shooter Hugo Pardo secured first place with 98 points, followed by Hungary's Mat Fass and Russia's Konstantin Vesban. The Women's category saw British shooter Amy Eisman claim first place, with Spaniard Beatriz Laparra and French shooter Lea Auvert finishing second and third, respectively.
Hungary's Milay Farakas emerged victorious in the Masters category, while Italy's Enrico De Tomas dominated the Senior category with a perfect score. Cyprus's Charis Constantin won the Men's category, and Italy's Claudio Germano topped the Veterans category.
Mohammed Suhail Al Neyadi expressed pride in the success of the Abu Dhabi Silver Award, highlighting its significance as a continuation of the inaugural Abu Dhabi International Shotgun Championship. Al Neyadi emphasized the UAE's capability to host major international shooting events and extended gratitude to all contributors to the event's success.
