Dubai: DMCC has announced a 13 percent increase in companies from Singapore joining its international business district over the past year. This development was disclosed during DMCC's inaugural roadshow in Singapore, aimed at attracting Singaporean businesses to Dubai. Currently, DMCC hosts more than half of the total number of Singaporean businesses operating in the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency, DMCC has entered into a partnership with Hawksford, an international business services provider, to facilitate the company setup process in its district. Hawksford will offer advisory, registration, accounting, and tax support to businesses, which is expected to attract new companies to DMCC.
As one of DMCC's strategic target markets, Singapore presents a range of opportunities across tech, commodities, and trade, supported by a growing relationship as Singaporean firms look for efficiencies through Dubai. With nearly 400 Singaporean companies now registered in DMCC, the business district is solidifying its role as a crucial gateway for Southeast Asian businesses aiming for international expansion.
The roadshow event featured senior DMCC executives engaging with over 100 Singaporean business leaders, offering tailored insights into how Dubai can act as a platform for international growth and investment diversification. Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, remarked, "Our first in-person Made For Trade Live roadshow in Singapore comes at a time of accelerating cooperation between our two nations, with bilateral trade reaching US$18.7 billion last year."
Tommaso Barindelli, Head of Business Development at Hawksford Dubai, commented, "This partnership marks a significant milestone for our firm and a valuable opportunity for our current and future clients."
DMCC currently hosts over 25,000 companies from 180 countries, spanning various sectors and industries. The district contributes 15 percent of Dubai's annual foreign direct investment inflows and 7 percent of its GDP.
