Ashgabat: Dragon Oil, a prominent international energy company, celebrated 25 years of operations in Turkmenistan with a ceremony at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat. This event underscored a quarter-century of successful investment and partnership between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.
According to Emirates News Agency, the celebration was attended by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of Emirates National Oil Group and Dragon Oil, along with Dragon Oil Board Members Ahmed Al Muhairbi, Qusai Al Shared, Ahmed Sharaf, and Abdulkarim Al Mazmi, CEO. Guvanch Agajanov, Minister of State and Chairman of the State Concern 'Turkmennebit', and Ahmed Al Hai Al Hamli, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan, also graced the occasion, alongside ambassadors from over 20 countries, government officials, and energy sector leaders.
The ceremony began with a corporate video presentation showcasing Dragon Oil's international journey and its key operations in the Cheleken contract area. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer expressed his gratitude to Turkmenistan, highlighting Dragon Oil's role as a committed partner in the nation's energy sector. He emphasized the company's significant investment of over $11 billion and its focus on sustainability and development.
Guvanch Agajanov praised Dragon Oil's contributions to the oil and gas sector in Turkmenistan, noting the company's reliability and responsible partnership since 2000. Ahmed Al Hai Al Hamli highlighted the importance of energy cooperation between the UAE and Turkmenistan, acknowledging Dragon Oil's role in enhancing regional energy security and economic growth.
Abdulkarim Al Mazmi, CEO of Dragon Oil, reflected on the partnership's growth over the past 25 years, emphasizing the company's commitment to excellence and community well-being. He recognized the dedicated service of over 90 employees in Ashgabat and Hazar, celebrating their continuous commitment to the partnership.
