Dubai Press Club Organises UAE-Kuwait Media Celebration Highlighting Fraternal Ties

Dubai: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and following directives from H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the Dubai Press Club today hosted the 'UAE-Kuwait Media Celebration'. Held at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait, this event was a key part of the UAE media delegation's visit to Kuwait, attended by leading media figures, artists, producers, intellectuals, and cultural representatives from both nations, underscoring the robust ties and collaborative media efforts between the UAE and Kuwait.

According to Emirates News Agency, the celebration included a youth-focused session titled 'Media and the Voice of Youth: UAE and Kuwait', alongside the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Dubai Media Incorporated and Kuwait's Ministry of Information - Kuwait TV aimed at enhancing joint media production. The programme also featured a gala dinner, artistic displays, and media activities, all reflecting the deep bond between these two nations.

In her opening address, Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, congratulated Kuwait on its National Day and Liberation Day, reflecting on the cherished relationship between the two nations. She emphasized the enduring phrase 'The UAE and Kuwait are Brothers Forever', highlighting the historical ties and mutual respect binding the countries. Al Marri recalled the collaboration in 1969 for Dubai's first official television broadcast as a pivotal moment in Gulf media history, merging Emirati ambition with Kuwaiti expertise.

Al Marri further highlighted the Dubai Press Club's enduring partnerships with Kuwaiti media professionals, particularly through initiatives like the Arab Media Summit. She also noted the 25th anniversary of the Arab Media Award, commending Kuwaiti journalists for their influential contributions. Her remarks concluded with a reflection on the shared history and future aspirations of the UAE and Kuwait.

Dr. Ahmed Abdulwahab Al Awadhi, Kuwait's Minister of Health and Acting Minister of Information and Culture, addressed the celebration, emphasizing the depth of UAE-Kuwait ties. He highlighted the media's role in fostering communication, shared values, and societal engagement, noting that the event signifies an important milestone in media collaboration between the nations. Al Awadhi expressed hopes for continued stability and prosperity for both countries.

The event also included a musical operetta dedicated to Kuwait, celebrating the historical and cultural ties between the nations. The performance conveyed messages of appreciation and pride, encapsulating shared values and aspirations. The celebration, attended by over 100 senior UAE media figures and leading Kuwaiti media professionals, underscored the strength of bilateral relations and the spirit of cooperation in a setting reflecting Gulf cultural identity and unity.
