Doha: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, met on Thursday at the Amiri Terminal at Hamad International Airport to discuss recent regional developments, particularly the ongoing Iranian aggression affecting Qatar and several neighboring countries.
According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions highlighted Egypt's firm solidarity with Qatar. President El-Sisi expressed Egypt's unwavering support for any measures Qatar may implement to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens. The talks underscored both nations' shared opposition to military actions that might escalate the conflict.
The leaders concurred on the necessity of enhancing regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions. They emphasized the importance of pursuing diplomatic channels as a means to uphold security and stability across the region.
