Emirates Energy Forum 2025 Unites Sector Leaders to Advance UAE’s Energy Transition

Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) organised the third edition of the Emirates Energy Forum, bringing together stakeholders and thought leaders to accelerate the UAE's energy transition agenda. The forum celebrated achievements and set the course for the future of the country's energy sector.

According to Emirates News Agency, the highlight of the event was the release of the sixth UAE State of Energy Report, which provides an overview of the latest developments in the energy sector. The report, comprising seven chapters, outlines the policies, visions, and technological innovations underpinning the UAE's ambition to transform energy production and consumption, with a goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

Developed by MoEI in collaboration with strategic partners, the report includes insights and contributions from experts on topics relevant to net zero and the energy sector. The Department of Energy-Abu Dhabi supported the report as the title sponsor, with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) as platinum sponsors, Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi (EAD) as the gold sponsor, and Dolphin Energy as the silver sponsor.

Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, stated that the Emirates Energy Forum reflects the UAE's commitment to building a sustainable and resilient energy sector. He emphasized that the UAE State of Energy Report serves as a national reference documenting progress and outlining future sector transformations based on effective partnerships, innovation, and data-driven policymaking. This approach strengthens the UAE's position as a leading global hub for clean energy and sustainable development.

Al Mazrouei further noted that the UAE's achievements in the energy sector result from proactive leadership that views energy security and sustainability as complementary. Through investment in practical solutions, expansion of clean energy projects, and a balanced approach considering economic growth and emissions reduction, the UAE presents a pragmatic global model for energy transition. The country transforms climate commitments into development opportunities, strengthens international partnerships to accelerate climate action, and ensures a safe and sustainable future for future generations.

During the forum, Al Mazrouei honoured the winners and participants of the UAE Energy Management Award in its ninth edition. Seven entities from government and private sectors submitted dossiers showcasing experiences in implementing energy management systems in line with the ISO 50001 standard, achieving effective energy consumption reductions. EMSTEEL Group won first place, Dubai Municipality - Architectural Heritage and Antiquities Department secured second, and Agthia Group took third place. The award is part of the Energy Management Leadership programme under the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and promotes energy efficiency and sustainable practices.

The forum also featured a youth panel, providing a platform for the young generation to contribute to shaping the UAE's energy landscape. Young participants shared insights and ideas on energy transition, climate change, and sustainable development. Additionally, two technical panels explored investment and market dynamics in energy transition and promoting innovation through AI and R and D. The outcomes will inform the Ministry's approach to driving the country's energy transition.

The Emirates Energy Forum is a key biennial event promoting sustainability and clean energy transition in the UAE, celebrating achievements and planning the future of the nation's energy sector.
