GCAA Hosts ‘Bridge of Generations in Aviation’ Event to Foster Knowledge Exchange

Dubai: The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), under its 'Love Your Sky' campaign, organized the 'Bridge of Generations in Aviation' event with the goal of enhancing communication between different generations in the civil aviation sector and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event united seasoned aviation experts with creative university students in interactive sessions aimed at transferring knowledge and preparing outstanding national talents for the future. Prominent figures in attendance included Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, and Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of GCAA, along with Maitha Mohammed Al Shamsi, CEO of the Social Empowerment Sector at the Community Development Authority in Dubai (CDA), senior officials, academics, and students interested in the sector.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid highlighted that the event mirrors one of the core pillars of the UAE's development journey, where progress is not solely measured by material achievements but also by the ability to transfer knowledge and experience across generations. She emphasized that when the ambition of youth meets the wisdom of pioneers, it creates a bridge of inspiration that propels the nation towards a confident future.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi remarked that the event's title, 'Bridge of Generations in Aviation,' encapsulates a fundamental philosophy within the UAE: true progress is achieved when previous generations engage with youth to exchange knowledge and ambition. He noted that the active engagement of youth through initiatives like the Youth Summit organized by GCAA at ICAO's General Assembly and ongoing interactive workshops indicates a promising future for the sector.

Maitha Al Shamsi stated that the event embodies the UAE's vision of investing in people and fostering knowledge and human connection across generations. She stressed that empowering individuals involves building an integrated system of values and practices that reinforce a culture of giving and social responsibility.

The event hosted over 180 university students from various colleges, with aviation experts sharing their experiences through interactive sessions, including open discussions with youth about the future of the sector and its promising opportunities. This reflects GCAA's commitment to fostering communication between generations and preparing distinguished national talents in civil aviation.
