Dubai: The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the organisation of the inaugural Civil Aviation Career Fair in the UAE. This landmark event brings together various sector companies and institutions, including federal and local government entities, airports, airlines, and air navigation organisations, featuring a total of 18 government authorities and aviation companies.
According to Emirates News Agency, the career fair will take place over two days, from 21st to 22nd January 2026, under the theme 'Promising Future' at the Etihad Museum in Dubai. The initiative is part of the GCAA's efforts to unify sector initiatives, attract national talent, and develop the UAE's local aviation workforce.
The event aims to showcase the wide range of jobs available across the aviation sector, from pilots and air traffic controllers to engineers and safety specialists. It seeks to introduce students, graduates, and young job seekers to the vast career opportunities the sector offers beyond flying aircraft.
In conjunction with the career fair exhibition, a series of talks and panel discussions will highlight critical roles in the aviation sector and the evolving needs of the job market. These sessions are designed to help youth make informed career choices by expanding their awareness of the various opportunities available.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, emphasized the importance of enhancing Emiratisation in the aviation sector, which currently supports more than 990,000 jobs across the country. He expressed optimism about the fair's potential to contribute to nationalisation efforts and develop the next generation of Emirati leaders in aviation.
Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, highlighted the event as an important national platform for introducing Emirati youth to diverse career opportunities in aviation. Other industry leaders, including Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, and Ahmed Jumaa Al Shamsi, Acting CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing their commitment to supporting and developing national talent.
The career fair will bring together key entities from the aviation ecosystem, such as the UAE Space Agency, National Search and Rescue Center, Dubai Airports, and leading airlines and aviation companies, reflecting the GCAA's commitment to building a smart, interconnected aviation ecosystem.
