Global Future Councils and Cybersecurity 2025 Conclude Activities Amid Wide International Participation

Dubai: Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils, emphasized the United Arab Emirates' commitment to fostering a nurturing environment that unites global experts to address the challenges of technological advancements in the age of artificial intelligence.

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Gergawi highlighted the importance of the Annual Meetings of the Global Future Councils and Cybersecurity 2025 as a platform for strategic visions that anticipate future transformations. Since their inception over 16 years ago, these Councils have served as a hub for strategic partnerships and international collaboration aimed at fostering prosperity and growth.

Al Gergawi stated that the meetings have become vital for designing plans and solutions to future challenges, based on a unified understanding that rapid changes necessitate a coordinated global vision. The strategic partnership between the UAE Government and the World Economic Forum has become a model for positive international collaboration, propelling open, sustainable, and inclusive dialogue.

He further revealed that the Global Future Councils have significantly influenced the agenda of the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting in Davos and have become instrumental in shaping global efforts to address challenges. Al Gergawi extended an open invitation to stakeholders worldwide to engage in shaping the future, asserting the UAE's dedication to supporting international efforts that accelerate progress and enhance resilience.

The meetings saw participation from over 700 experts and leaders from 93 nations, focusing on future developments in domains such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, global food security, the economy, energy, the environment, health, and space. Discussions were held across 37 Councils, exploring trajectories in technology, governance, society, the economy, and health, aiming to develop resilient systems that turn challenges into opportunities for sustainable development.

The opening session underscored the need for flexible thinking and multidisciplinary cooperation in addressing geopolitical and technological shifts. It emphasized the necessity of establishing partnerships that transform global challenges into opportunities for human development.

Sessions on technology addressed advancements in AI and quantum computing, focusing on innovation's role in digital security and the knowledge economy. Discussions on cybersecurity examined global trends in digital protection, emphasizing the need for international cooperation to combat rising cyber risks.

Economic sessions analyzed geopolitical impacts on global growth, advocating for flexible and equitable policies to navigate volatility and foster a green, knowledge-based economy. Environmental discussions highlighted emerging technologies' potential to bolster resilience against climate-related challenges.
