Dubai: Gold edged higher on Friday, supported by lower oil prices and a subdued US dollar. Spot gold rose 0.3 percent to US$4,352.60 per ounce as of 00:50 GMT, while US gold futures for December delivery fell 0.2 percent to US$4,391.60. According to Emirates News Agency, among other precious metals, spot silver saw an increase of 0.7 percent, climbing to US$65.64 per ounce. Platinum experienced a gain of 0.9 percent, reaching US$1,785.55. Additionally, palladium added 0.1 percent, bringing its price to US$1,292.47 per ounce. The rise in gold and other precious metal prices has been attributed to current market conditions, including fluctuations in oil prices and the performance of the US dollar. The movements in these commodities are closely watched by investors seeking to hedge against economic uncertainties.
