Rabat: H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation (KSQF), has launched two significant initiatives in the Kingdom of Morocco aimed at enhancing child protection systems and empowering vulnerable communities.
According to Emirates News Agency, these initiatives, led by KSQF, are designed to support children facing social hardship, including refugees and migrants, in a nation that hosts individuals from 64 countries. The first initiative, funded by KSQF and executed by Fondation Amane pour la Protection de l'Enfance (FAPE), is concentrated on strengthening child protection systems in the Sous-Massa region. The second initiative, co-funded with The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) and carried out by Bayti Association, is directed at supporting children in street situations and their families within urban areas.
Sheikha Jawaher emphasized that these initiatives embody the vision of the late Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who advocated for protecting childhood as a cornerstone for building resilient societies. She acknowledged Morocco's proactive efforts in enhancing social protection systems that benefit both its citizens and refugees.
Sheikha Jawaher pointed out that the Foundation's initiatives underscore shared Arab values and a unified commitment to nurturing confident, capable generations poised to contribute to societal advancement.
The first project, titled Strengthening Local Child Protection Systems Through Community Mobilisation, Government Collaboration, and Mobile Outreach, aims to assist 740 direct beneficiaries, over 5,000 families, and 180 institutional representatives. It encompasses awareness campaigns, social worker training, and the expansion of Taroudant's Child Protection Unit to provide psychosocial and legal support, birth registration, and school reintegration services.
The second project, Cultivating the Future: Prevention, Protection, Rehabilitation, and Care for Children in Street Situations and Their Families, offers a holistic approach to rehabilitation, healthcare, education, and vocational training through Bayti's Farm School, which incorporates organic farming as a therapeutic and skill-building initiative.
During her humanitarian mission, Sheikha Jawaher engaged with officials from Bayti Association, Moroccan government representatives, and national partners of KSQF. She was joined by Noura Al Noman, Chairperson of the Executive Office of Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi, and members of KSQF's Board of Trustees, along with representatives from TBHF.
These projects further affirm Sharjah's and the UAE's dedication to child protection, education promotion, and community development throughout the Arab world.
